Suspect who allegedly killed man with skateboard must appear in court

A suspect accused of killing a man with a skateboard in Columbus is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Timothy Davis, 64, was killed Friday after an altercation with another man near a Kroger in the 1300 block of North High Street.

Davis was taken to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he died later Sunday.

Police have arrested the suspect, 46-year-old Adrian Ashley, and charged him with murder.

Witnesses told police that Ashley beat Davis unconscious, then grabbed a skateboard and hit him on the head several times.

In charging documents, investigators wrote that Ashley kicked the victim in the head as he walked away.

Authorities believe several other witnesses recorded the incident. They are asking those witnesses to call the Homicide Unit at (614) 645-4730.
