Demi Moore talks about nudity and her behavior in her new film

Demi Moore new horror film, The substancehas made headlines with its nude scenes – but the 61-year-old actress says that this is not the focus of the film.

Led by Coralie Fargeat and co-star Margaret Qualley, The substance Moore plays a TV fitness guru named Elizabeth Sparkle, whose boss (Dennis Quaid) wants to replace her with a younger person – so she uses a mysterious black market drug to create a younger version of herself (played by Qualley).

In an interview with DeadlineMoore spoke at length about her interest in the role.

“The role definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and I felt like it was not just about aging and this male view of the idealized woman that women often have, but also about this inner struggle, this intense, harsh criticism that we face, this pursuit of perfection that doesn't exist,” the star explained.

Moore also pointed out something she found “kind of fascinating” about the reporting The substance received in the media.

“It’s interesting, I just saw a few little headlines (about substance), particularly in the English-speaking press, and it was interesting almost until the film itself that the headlines just focused on the fact that it was about nudity,” she said. “And I thought, 'Oh, how sad that it's presented in a way that is shameful and degrading.' That's the least important part of the film,” Moore continued.
