Donald Trump's falling DJT shares could boost his campaign coffers

From

This is an adapted excerpt from the 3 September Episode of “The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle”.

Shares of Donald Trump's media company hit a new low on Wednesday, ending the day at $16.98 per share, down 6 percent for the day. DJT has now fallen more than 78 percent from its high of $79.38 per share in late March.

This drop comes just weeks before Trump can cash in his nearly 59 percent stake in the company — the one that essentially does nothing but provide him with a blank slate for social media posts. The “lockup agreement” delaying the sale expires on September 25, just as the presidential campaign enters its final stages.

Despite that 78% drop, Trump's stake in DJT is currently worth more than $2 billion. If Trump sells, that's money he could theoretically use to fund his campaign or pay his mounting legal fees. It's easy to see why some see buying DJT stock as the most extraordinary solution to a campaign donation to Trump. always.
