Several drug charges are brought against a woman from Lenoir

Chasity Gardner Travis, 39, of Huffman Road in Lenoir, was arrested by Lenoir police on Sunday (Sept. 8) on charges of theft over $1,000, willful possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance on the premises of a correctional facility and altering, destroying or stealing evidence of criminal conduct. Travis was also charged with misdemeanors of simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public official.

Travis was detained at the Caldwell County Detention Center, where she was held on $20,000 and $75,000 bonds for the drug charges, but was held without bond for the tampering, destruction or theft of evidence. Her only currently scheduled court date in Caldwell County is September 26 on a charge of illegal possession of evidence.
