Gameplay prototype of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare leaked online

A gameplay prototype of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, codenamed “Phantoms,” has leaked online with 17 minutes of footage.

The new gameplay footage comes from YouTuber Alpha Archive, who uploaded nearly 17 minutes of gameplay footage to his YouTube channel. The footage comes from the single-player mission “Fission” and was codenamed “Fusion” during development. You can watch the gameplay below:

Date: May 3, 2013; the content won't be completed for another 18 months, as Advanced Warfare was only released in November 2014. The prototype uses assets from Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 as placeholders. While there isn't much else to see in the way of new content, it's fascinating to see prototype footage from one of the biggest gaming franchises in the world.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was published in 2014 by Sledgehammer Games under the direction of Glen Schofield, Michael Condrey, and Bret Robbins. It was Sledgehammer Games' first mainline Call of Duty title, where they received recognition primarily for their support of Infinity Ward on Modern Warfare 3.

The game introduced exosuits to the series for the first time, allowing players to boost and jump, which was considered a huge leap from the standard formula that Call of Duty was known for at the time.

Advanced Warfare was released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
