Several cars catch fire in the parking lot of Springfield-Branson National Airport

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri (KY3) – Several cars caught fire at Springfield-Branson National Airport Saturday morning.

According to the airport, a man drove into the short-term parking lot thinking his radiator was overheating, but it actually turned out that the car was on fire.

After he parked his car, the fire spread. Officials said firefighters from the airport and Springfield Fire Department rushed to the scene to fight the fire.

In total, five cars were damaged, including the one that first caught fire. Airport officials said no one was injured.

Airport officials said the owners of the other four cars would be notified about their cars when they returned to the airport because airport staff did not know where they were.
