Jimmy Butler has his eye on the Brooklyn Nets? Miami Heat superstar “loves” the team

There is no telling where Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler will play after this season.

Butler is entering the final year of his contract, where he must prove he deserves a max deal while the Heat's front office assesses his value. With both sides potentially willing to walk away from the deal, other teams are coming into play for the 35-year-old.

Brian Lewis of the New York Post suggests the Brooklyn Nets as a destination and reports that Butler is “impressed” with the organization.

“Butler is not only open to Brooklyn, he's attracted to it,” Lewis wrote. “He's not a Net and may never be one. But to rule out that possibility is foolish. Butler has decided he will finish next season and not renew his contract in Miami until he opts out in 2025. He seems determined to become a free agent even if (when?) the Heat finally make him a concrete offer.”

This move doesn't make sense for the Nets or Butler right now. Brooklyn's front office just began a rebuild by parting ways with star forward Mikal Bridges and others as the veteran star aims for his first career title.

Unless the pull of the city and the money is stronger than the desire to win a title, it's hard to imagine Butler in a Nets jersey.
