Legendary wrestler Bret Hart returns to WWE

Monday Night Raw has been WWE’s premier show since its debut on January 11, 1993.

Now, 32 seasons and 1,635 episodes later, Raw is moving to Netflix after spending the majority of its run on the USA Network.

However, it seems that WWE still has big things ahead for Raw before the postponement, as a legendary professional wrestler is highly anticipated and returning to the show.

Recently, Canadian sports reporter Jackie Redmond, known for her commentary on the WWE and the NHL, reported that the Excellence of Execution be at WWE Monday Night Raw for its “season premiere” on September 9, 2024.

“I can officially confirm that Canadian legend Bret The Hitman Hart will be appearing on the season premiere of [WWE Raw] at the Saddledome in Calgary,” Redmond said on social media. “Get your pink out and let's rock!”

This was also confirmed by Triple H, WWE's Chief Content Officer and Creative Director, at X.

“When you’re in Hart’s country…” Triple H wrote. “[Bret Hart] accompanies us for [WWE Monday Night Raw]'s big season premiere, this Monday at 8/7c LIVE from Calgary on [USA Network]. You definitely shouldn’t miss this.”

While there is no confirmation as to what form Hart will take, there have been rumors that he will somehow team up with Gunther, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

This is The Hitman's first appearance on Raw in nine years, but he has appeared on other wrestling shows since then.

Hart was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019 and was seen in the audience at Clash at the Castle in 2022.

Additionally, Hart made an appearance in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), unveiling the AEW Championship belt for the first time at Double or Nothing (2019). It was eventually won by Chris Jericho.

Bret Hart, part of the legendary Hart Wrestling Family, made his professional wrestling debut in 1978 in Stampede Wrestling, his father's promotion, after a wrestler was unable to compete in his match.

In 1986, Hart left Stampede Wrestling and joined the World Wrestling Federation, now WWE. He soon joined manager Jimmy Hart and brother-in-law Jim Neidhart at the Hart Foundation and won the WWF Tag Team Championship twice.

Hart was involved in numerous legendary storylines and rivalries and won the Intercontinental Championship and the WWF Championship on multiple occasions.

Hart then moved to World Championship Wrestling, where he remained a major attraction and won several championships.

Unfortunately, Hart's career in the ring ended abruptly when he suffered a concussion from a kick by Goldberg. Much worse than it first appeared, Hart ended his career as a professional wrestler on October 26, 2000.

During his career, Hart won the WWF Championship five times, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice, the Intercontinental Championship twice, the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship five times, and the WWE United States Championship once.

Hart also won the King of the Ring tournament twice (1991 and 1993) and the Royal Rumble once (1994).
