“I thought he already had one foot out the door. Everyone could see that was an act. He had weight to lose, and it was in his face. Even when you're heavy, you have more body fat. You can't say you're drained and dying and have a full face. I've been losing weight since I was literally five years old. I know when someone is drained (and) I know the face of someone who just gave up, who just said screw it. The UFC tried to help him all week and he didn't accept the help, so it's just a lack of discipline. When I saw that, I thought, 'Okay, he's already got one foot out the door. I have to give him a reason to quit.'”

Petroski on Budka’s determination

“I have to give the kid credit. After every round he stood there and said, 'I'm ready to fight.' So I give the kid credit. He may be undisciplined, and if you're going to be undisciplined in this sport, you better be spectacular. But I'm not his coach. I give him credit and say he was ready to fight in every round.”

Petroski on his next goals

“If they call me, I'll say yes. That's up to the UFC. I'm excited though – two wins in a row. I'm excited to see who they give me next. I think there are a lot of exciting fights. But we'll see. I'm not going to keep saying the same name. I don't have any names right now. I'm open to anything. There are a lot of fights that aren't in the top 15, but there are some fights in the top 15 that I like. OK, Alex Pereira – give me (light heavyweight champion) Alex Pereira. Like that.”
