Brief assessments of the Titans after training on Friday

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park on Friday to continue preparations for Sunday's season opener against the Chicago Bears.

Here is a look at today’s developments:

-Titans receiver DeAndre Hopkins practiced for the third consecutive day on Friday.

Hopkins was listed as QUESTIONABLE on the team's official injury report for Sunday's game.

“He's gotten a lot of work,” coach Brian Callahan said of Hopkins. “He's been working in individual sessions and getting his team drills. It's more about conditioning, making sure he's ready to play.”

“So far, the whole process has been really smooth.”

Hopkins returned to the practice field on Wednesday for the first time since July 31.

Hopkins, who missed all three preseason games due to a knee injury, is expected to be decided shortly before the start of the game.

“When a player is limited like that, we wait until the game to make sure everything is OK,” Callahan said. “We wait until Sunday.”

-Safety Jamal Adams (hip) has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game.

Callahan gave an update on Adams.

“It turned out to be a little more serious than we initially thought,” Callahan said of Adams and his injury. “But he's on track to be back here training soon. I'm just making sure he's back to full fitness and ready to go.”

Callahan said Adams worked on the field and in meetings during his recovery.

-Linebacker Otis Reese (concussion) will also miss Sunday's game.

-Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie was placed on the injury report with a calf injury and listed as QUESTIONABLE. Awuzie was limited in Friday's practice.

– The Bears released their final version of the injury report on Friday, and it read as follows: WR Keenan Allen (heel), DL Montez Sweat (toe), DL DeMarcus Walker (groin) and DL Darrell Taylor (foot) are all QUESTIONABLE. DL Zacch Pickens (groin) was listed as NOT available for Sunday's game.

-Titans tight end Josh Whyle said he plans to wear a Guardian cap at Sunday's game and throughout the 2024 season.
