Raygun tops the world rankings after controversy surrounding the Olympic Games in Paris

The drama surrounding Rachael “Raygun” Gunn has taken its biggest turn after the Australian breakdancer returned home.

The 37-year-old landed in Sydney on the same day that it was announced that she was the new number one in the breakdancing world.

Gunn made headlines around the world following her controversial performance at the Paris Olympics, where she finished second to last and disqualified only one athlete.

Despite these performances, which resulted in her not scoring a single point, the World DanceSport Federation released the latest rankings, with the Australian at the top of the list.

Thanks to the 1,000 points she received for winning the WDSF Oceania Championship, which secured her a place at the Olympic Games, Raygun catapulted herself to first place in the world rankings.

Four Australians are among the top eight on the list: Holy Molly (4), Hannah (5) and G-Clef (8) join Raygun.
