REPORTS

MALICIOUS INJURY, 2024-09080034, 2000 block of Richmond Highway. On September 8, police were called to a dispute at approximately 4:18 a.m. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the female victim and male suspect, who knew each other, were inside a building when they became involved in a verbal argument during which the male suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, brandished a firearm, and made threats. The suspect then stole the victim's phone and prevented her from leaving a room. The victim was subsequently able to leave the room and get help. Outside the building, the victim attempted to take her phone from the suspect and he struck her, resulting in a laceration. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. A wanted signal was sent and responding officers located and arrested the suspect in the 2200 block of S. Eads Street. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and did not require medical attention. Paramedics responded and transported the suspect to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. Aaron Worrell, 39, of Portsmouth, Virginia, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, robbery, kidnapping, use of a weapon in the commission of a crime and illegal possession of a weapon.

INDECIDENT EXPOSURE, 2024-09070247, Columbia Pike at S. Jefferson Street. On September 7, police were called to a report of public nuisance at approximately 9:46 p.m. Preliminary investigation indicates the female victim was walking in the area when the male suspect allegedly exposed himself. The suspect then threatened to harm a second victim who was walking in the area. Officers responding to the scene found the suspect on scene and took him into custody. Marlon Young, 49, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with public nuisance, assault, and public intoxication.

MALICIOUS INJURY,2024-09080167, 900 block of N. Stafford Street. On September 8th at approximately 9:27 p.m., police were called to a dispute. Upon arrival, it was found that the male victim was sitting on a bench when the male suspect stole his bag and fled the scene on a bicycle. The victim subsequently located the suspect in the area of ​​N. Stafford Street and N. Fairfax Drive and they got into a physical altercation during which the male suspect struck the victim with a sharp object before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released by paramedics on scene. Officers responding to the call conducted a search of the area but were unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'1″ tall, approximately 40-50 years old, with a beard and wearing a black jacket. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-09060195, 2100 block 15^th Street North. On September 6th at approximately 8:49 p.m., police were called to a report of a violent robbery. Upon arrival, it was found that the male victim was walking in the area when he approached the male suspect and engaged him in conversation during which a verbal argument ensued. The victim subsequently attempted to continue walking when the suspect approached him from behind and struck him, resulting in a cut, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before boarding a bus and fleeing the scene. The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention. Officers responding to the call searched the area for the suspect, but were unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5'7″ to 5'8″ tall, medium build, with black curly hair, wearing a white tank top and black shorts. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-09080178, 200 block of N. George Mason Drive. On September 8th at approximately 10:41 p.m., police were called to a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival it was found that The male victim was walking to his parked car when the male suspect approached him, brandished a firearm, and demanded his personal belongings. The suspect then stole the victim's keys and phone and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. A wanted notice was sent out and officers who responded searched the area for the suspect, but were unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'9″ tall, slim to medium build, with a beard and short black hair, wearing a jacket and face covering. The investigation is ongoing.

Attempted burglary (later), 2024-09060094, 1500 block of S. George Mason Drive. On September 6 at approximately 12:25 p.m., police were called to a late theft report. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 10:00 a.m. on September 5 and 10:00 a.m. on September 6, the suspect(s) entered a secured room of a residential building, forced entry into several storage units, caused property damage, ransacked the interior, and then fled the scene. No items were reported stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

Illegal entry, 2024-09060122, 200 block of N. Thomas Street. On September 6th at approximately 2:58 p.m., police were called to a burglary report. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect had forced entry into a vacant residence, caused property damage, and then fled the scene when the owner of the residence arrived. Officers investigating the incident conducted a search of the area, but were unsuccessful. The suspect is described as a 20-30 year old black male wearing a green shirt, khaki pants, and a bandana. The investigation is ongoing.
