49ers honor first responders who helped wide receiver Ricky Pearsall after shooting

On Monday Night Football, the San Francisco 49ers took a moment to honor two heroes who helped one of their own. During the first quarter, the 49ers and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall honored the first responders who helped Pearsall after he was shot on Aug. 31. Sergeant Joelle Harrell of the San Francisco Police Department and surgeon Dr. Lucy Kornblith of San Francisco General Hospital were recognized on the field and received signed jerseys. The two women received a standing ovation from the crowd at Levi's Stadium. Pearsall personally presented the jerseys to the two first responders on what would have been his 24th birthday. The 49ers said Pearsall is expected to make a full recovery. He was shot during an attempted robbery. The suspect, a 17-year-old from Tracy, faces multiple charges, including attempted murder.
