Joe Buck and Troy Aikman showed compassion for miserable-looking Jets fan during “MNF”

Being a fan of the New York Jets can be difficult.

A Jets fan bravely attended the season-opening game against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium on Monday night, even if he may end up wishing he hadn't.

The fan, wearing a white Jets jersey, was sitting between two 49ers fans who weren't afraid to poke fun at his expense. As things went from bad to worse for New York on the field, the two fans could be seen laughing hysterically while the Jets fan just looked pathetic.

The ESPN broadcast picked up on the Jets fan's suffering and Joe Buck and Troy Aikman expressed their condolences from the locker room.

“The whole second half … they wore him out,” Aikman said, while Buck encouraged the fan to “stay strong.”

The Jets fan was hunched forward in his seat, clearly unhappy with the outcome on the field. The 49ers fans, on the other hand, were thrilled with the performance and were all smiles as they watched their team run up the score.

New York fans entered the season optimistic about their team, but it didn't take long for that hope to fade, as evidenced by the dejected fan at Levi's Stadium.
