Saliba helps France to its first victory in the Nations League | International | News

William Saliba played 90 minutes on Monday evening and kept a clean sheet in France's 2-0 home win against Belgium in the UEFA Nations League.

Goals for France came from Randal Kolo Muani and Ousmane Dembele just before half-time and Les Bleus are now second in Group 2 of League A with three points from two games.

In the remainder of the competition, Martin Odegaard played 67 minutes in Norway's 2-1 home win over Austria before being substituted due to an ankle injury.

Norway took the lead in the ninth minute through Felix Horn Myhre, before Marcel Sabitzer reduced the deficit just before half-time. Erling Haaland scored the winning goal for Norway ten minutes from time.

Norway is second in Group 3 of League B with four points from two games.

In the Africa Cup of Nations qualification, Thomas Partey was captain and played 90 minutes in Ghana's 1-1 away draw with Niger.

Alidu Seidu gave Ghana the lead just before half-time, but Oumar Saka equalised for Niger shortly before the end.

Both nations are now behind Angola and Sudan in Group F with one point each from their first two games.

Riccardo Calafiori did not take part in Italy's match against Israel on Monday evening due to an injury he sustained in last Friday's match against France.
