REPORTS

SHOTS FIRED, 2024-09090013, Columbia Pike, S. Walter Reed Drive. On September 9th at approximately 3:42 a.m., police were dispatched to a report of shots fired. Officers found evidence confirming shots had been fired in the area and searched the area for the suspects, but were unsuccessful. The preliminary investigation indicates that a group of approximately 6 to 8 people were involved in a physical altercation prior to the shooting. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a white male wearing a white shirt. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-09100003, 1800 block of Wilson Boulevard. On September 10 at approximately 12:21 a.m., police were called to a report of a violent robbery. Upon arrival, they found that six vehicles had stopped in front of the store and approximately 12 suspects had exited and stolen merchandise from the outside of the building. An employee then confronted the suspects, at which point they began throwing merchandise and hitting him before fleeing the scene. Paramedics arrived, evaluated, and released the employee at the scene. The suspects are described as black males and females in their early twenties wearing all dark clothing. The investigation is ongoing.

CARJACKING, 2024-09090219, 2500 block of 9^th Road S. On September 9, police were called to a carjacking at approximately 11:19 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the male victim was returning to his vehicle in a parking garage when the male suspect approached them, brandished a firearm, struck the victim with the weapon, and demanded the victim's car keys. The suspect then fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, described as a gray Kia Niro with Virginia license plate TNB7769. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. The suspect is described as a black male wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.

VIBRATION, 2024-09090011, Clarendon Boulevard at the corner of Washington Boulevard. On September 9 at approximately 2:44 a.m., police were called to a report of a firearm. The preliminary investigation indicates that the female victim was standing at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and N. Hudson Street when the suspect's vehicle stopped and the occupants engaged her in conversation during which the driver mentioned he had a firearm. The victim then ran to Clarendon Boulevard at the corner of Washington Boulevard and was standing with the male victim when the driver pulled up next to them and brandished a firearm before driving away. During the course of the investigation, officers identified the driver and obtained warrants for his arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
