Man allegedly killed his girlfriend and initially claimed she shot herself, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man is accused of shooting his girlfriend in their West Nashville apartment last week, according to Metro Nashville Police.

Police said 26-year-old Jack Becker was arrested Tuesday night on manslaughter charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Autumn Joiner on Friday.

The shooting occurred at the couple's Hillmeade Court apartment. Police said Becker initially claimed Joiner shot himself.

However, the MNPD investigation found that this is not true.
