“Sometimes a picture can be distracting”

Beyoncé has finally shared why she distanced herself from producing music videos for her latest albums.

After Beyoncé revolutionized the visual aspect of albums, her latest albums, such as Cowboy Carter And Renaissance, have no music videos, and there is a reason for thatat.

“I thought it was important that the world could focus on the voice in a time when we only see images,” said the singer GQ“The music is so rich in history and instrumentation. It takes months to process, explore and understand it.”

She continued, “The music needed space to breathe on its own. Sometimes an image can distract from the quality of the voice and the music. The years of hard work and attention to detail that go into an album that takes over four years! The music is enough. The fans from all over the world became the image. We all got the image on tour. Then we got more footage from my film.”

In the same interview, Beyoncé also mentioned some of the artists who inspired her.

“I love and respect all the female singer-songwriters out there right now…Raye, Victoria Monét, Sasha Keable, Chloe x Halle, and Reneé Rapp. I love Doechii and GloRilla, and I just heard That Mexican OT, he's from Houston…He's rocking!” she said. “I really like 'Please Please Please' by Sabrina Carpenter, and I think Thee Sacred Souls and Chappell Roan are talented and interesting. I'm obsessed with my Backseat Baby…I'm a smiler.”

However, Beyoncé said she spends most of her time listening to “classics” by Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. The “Texas Hold 'Em” singer called Inside Out 2 “The best film I have seen this year,” she said, she is currently watching House of the Dragon And The Chi.
