Jonathan Greenard names the exact moment the Vikings started to feel sorry for Daniel Jones

The Minnesota Vikings recorded a clear victory in their season opener against the New York Giants on Sunday and had no problems in defense against the offense led by Daniel Jones.

The defense allowed just six points and held the Giants without a touchdown while recording five sacks and two interceptions, including a pick-six, against Jones. Jones and the rest of the offense got the word from the angry MetLife Stadium crowd for most of the game, so much so that Vikings fullback Jonathan Greenard said he started to feel a little sick.

At a performance on The Power Hour On KFAN 100.3, Greenard admitted he started to feel bad when the boos from Giants fans got so loud that it felt like a typical third-down situation, where fans are often the loudest.

“Man, we heard the boos and we were like, OK, everything's good now. But when it got really loud, like a third-down defense, it was kind of bad. We started to feel a little bit sorry for him because we're still taking away everything he wants to do,” Greenard said.

“Hey, it's good to be on the other side. And it's our job not to be on that side if we're not doing our job,” he added.

Greenard did not record a tackle in the win but did score on Jones. The 27-year-old is playing his first season with the Vikings after signing a four-year, $76 million contract in the offseason.
