Trump campaign criticizes “con artist” Nancy Pelosi for spreading “fake news” ahead of his debate with Kamala Harris

Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House, claimed that former President Trump could skip the September 10 presidential debate with Kamala Harris out of “cowardice.” However, Trump's campaign team insisted that she was only trying to spread “fake news.”

Pelosi recently appeared at the Texas Tribune Festival, where she spoke with journalist Kara Swisher about a variety of topics before signing copies of her latest book.

Pelosi had sharply criticized Trump during the conversation and became even more vehement when the journalist asked her about the highly anticipated ABC News presidential debate on Tuesday.

Swisher asked Pelosi what advice she would give the former president.

“Do you think he’ll show up?” the 84-year-old Democrat joked, causing the audience to burst into laughter.

Swisher then asked if she knew something that “I don’t know?”

“I know cowardice when I see it,” the former spokesman replied.

Swisher then explained that she believes Pelosi agrees with former Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney, who called Trump a “misogynistic pig” at a previous Trib Fest event and invoked the same platform.

“Isn’t she wonderful?” Pelosi replied.

Trump's campaign team reacts to Pelosi's comments

Trump's campaign team dismissed Pelosi's speculation that the former president would avoid the debate, saying they had left behind “fake news.”

Trump spokesman Steven Cheung called Pelosi a “liar and a fraud” and told Fox News Digital that the Democrat did not understand what she was talking about. “When she's not busy giving herself false titles to make herself feel better, she's spreading fake news because that's the only thing she's ever done.”

All eyes are on ABC News, which will broadcast the highly anticipated first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

The 90-minute debate, which will take place on September 10 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will be moderated by two veteran journalists, David Muir and Linsey Davis.
