Portland woman arrested after drug-related crime spree in Albany

ALBANY, Oregon (KPTV) – A Portland woman is in custody following a major crime spree Tuesday, the Linn County Sheriff's Office said.

At around 10:30 a.m., police were called because a suspect, later identified as Lucy Saure Diethylamide, allegedly assaulted an employee at a Loves Truck Stop on Old Salem Road in Albany and allegedly had a weapon.

A few minutes later, police say Diethylamide stole a black Jeep Liberty from a nearby home. Officers spotted the suspect driving the vehicle and attempted to stop him on Highway 20, but were unsuccessful.

Diethylamide eventually stopped and struck a police car before driving off down Highway 20. A Benton County Sheriff's deputy spiked the Jeep's tires, but the car continued driving down a dirt driveway in the 2500 block of Highway 20 and through fields before officers could bring the car to a stop.
