Lainey Wilson shocks her fans at New York Fashion Week with flared trousers that look like an evening dress

Wherever Lainey Wilson leads, her bell-bottoms will follow.

The 32-year-old “Heart Like a Truck” singer loves her favorite pants so much that she even packed them in her suitcase for New York Fashion Week, where she attended Carolina Herrera's Spring 2025 show.

On September 9, the Grammy winner joined the front row of stars in a striking floral jumpsuit, a bold navy belt and gold hoop earrings.

The design featured a sleek pointed collar and was made from a windproof fabric that accentuated flowing trouser legs that flared out to make it look like Wilson had broken her own rules and worn a dress to the event.

In the photos taken at the show, Yellowstone star – who posed with Liza Koshy and Chloe Fineman – looked like she was wearing a dress with a flowy skirt, which must have been surprising given that Wilson's closet consists almost entirely of flared trousers.

When speaking to PEOPLE about her jewelry collection with Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott, she even joked, “A lot of people have never seen me in a dress.”

Sitting front row at Carolina Herrera was a big deal for Wilson, who shared on Instagram how much it meant to her to be at a show by her favorite designer.

“I wore @carolinaherrera on the #CMAawards red carpet last year and on the morning of the 2024 CMA Awards nominations announcement, I'm walking in my first runway show for #NYFW, wearing none other than Carolina Herrera, of course,” she wrote.

Last November, Wilson walked the runway in a sleek black strapless jumpsuit by Carolina Herrera, featuring a bow at the bodice and ruffle-trimmed trouser hems.

Of her nominations for the Nov. 20 Country Music Awards, which were announced Sept. 9, Wilson added, “You never know what's coming next! Thank you @cma. It's an incredible honor to be nominated in each of these categories. And congrats to all my friends. Seeing you all win makes me pumped.”

Wilson is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year for “Watermelon Moonshine.”
