IDF helicopter crashes in Rafah in the Gaza Strip

On Wednesday night, an Israeli military helicopter crashed in Rafah in an accident that is still unexplained. Two soldiers were killed, including the pilot, and seven soldiers on board were injured.

Four soldiers were seriously injured and three moderately injured.

The accident occurred after midnight while Unit 669 was attempting to rescue a wounded soldier at the scene.

In addition, the accident occurred when the helicopter was close to the ground.

IDF investigates accident

In addition, the Israel Defense Forces said that the helicopter was not hit by enemy forces and that the cause of the accident was being determined as part of an ongoing investigation.

By 2:00 a.m., all injured people had been evacuated to Soroka Medical Center.

The Israeli military said it had carried out hundreds of successful rescue missions in Gaza, rescuing a total of around 1,700 soldiers without any incidents.
