Lake Brantley High School in Seminole County was placed on lockdown after officials said they discovered a weapon on school grounds.

According to Seminole County Public Schools, officials received information about a possible weapon on school grounds, which immediately led to an investigation.

A student was identified, searched and found with an unloaded firearm, according to officials. Officials did not release any further information about the student, but said he is currently in custody.

“All students and staff are safe at this time,” an SCPS official said in a statement to WESH 2.

Lake Brantley currently remains in a Code Yellow closure zone as police conduct a raid on campus.

According to SCPS, a “Code Yellow” means the campus is locked down, but students are still allowed to continue with normal class activities. Limited movement on campus is permitted under this code.
