Hearing postponed for local defendant who threatened to kill woman in Hawthorn Borough

CLARION COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – The hearing continued Tuesday morning of a local man accused of threatening to kill a woman during an argument in the Hawthorn district.

Court documents indicate a preliminary hearing for the 69-year-old Kimball Paul RearickHawthorn, which was scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, was adjourned and will resume on October 1 at 10:45 a.m. with District Judge Jeffrey Miller presiding.

Rearick is accused of the following:

  • Terrorist threats with the intent to terrorize another person, offense 1
  • Harassment – ​​Physically harassing others, summary

The preliminary hearing had previously continued on August 13.

He is currently free on an unsecured bail of $10,000.00.

Details of the case:

According to the criminal complaint, on Sunday, August 4, at approximately 6:10 p.m., PSP Clarion was dispatched to the 3500 block of Maple Street in Hawthorn Borough, Clarion County, for a report of a domestic disturbance.

While the police were on their way to the crime scene, the suspect, identified as Kimball Rearickfled the home. When he arrived at the scene, Tpr. Van Lanzendorfer interviewed the victim, who reported that she and Rearick had an argument inside the home, the complaint states.

The victim told police that Rearick pushed her during the argument and then threatened to slit her throat while she slept, the complaint states.

The victim further stated that Rearick told her she would die before him, the complaint states.

Police found Rearick in a nearby residence. During an interview, he denied making any of the statements, according to the complaint.

Rearick was arraigned before Judge Schill on Sunday, August 4, at 9:00 p.m.
