Phoenix Suns need Tyrese Haliburton

PHOENIX – With the Phoenix Suns already boasting two of the league's best scorers, former NBA All-Star Stephon Marbury believes Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton is a perfect fit for the organization.

“They need a point guard who can score. They need a guy who can get them going but also really push. Like the kid who plays for the Indiana Pacers? Tyrese [Haliburton]. He hasn't played in the Olympics that much this year. But if he gets stronger? Oh my God, he's off the hook!” Marbury said in an interview with Scoop B Robinson.

“He has a big heart, but sometimes his heart doesn't seem to beat as hard as the other guys whose hearts also beat hard. It's like he's letting other guys beat him. But I think he's still young and I think once he's stronger he'll need about 15 to 20 pounds more of pure muscle mass.

“I like him at Phoenix. When he plays at Phoenix, I think he's definitely going to be different because he's definitely DIFFERENT because he runs the ball down the field and he knows how to handle the ball. Sometimes he jumps in the air too much, but he'll get out of that habit because he'll learn everyone's habits and see who knows how to defend, who can steal the ball and who can't.”

Marbury, himself a former Suns player, also mentioned to Robinson how brilliant it was of the San Antonio Spurs to sign Chris Paul.

“First, let me say how much Coach Pop enjoyed bringing in Chris Paul first, OK,” he said.

“I have to tell you how brilliant it was for Chris Paul to revive his career AGAIN! It's like every two or three years he's the luckiest point guard ever! He gets GREAT opportunities. Now he's doing hand and ankle exercises somewhere!”

Haliburton won't be joining the Suns anytime soon, although that's a nice thought.
