Justin Timberlake makes deal in DWI case, avoids drunk driving charges

According to a new report, Justin Timberlake has negotiated a deal in his drunk driving case in New York that will allow him to avoid a drunk driving charge and instead be charged with a traffic violation.

The 43-year-old pop star signed the deal on Tuesday, while Timberlake was officially charged with driving under the influence, sources familiar with the case told TMZ.

The deal, which will be officially signed on Friday, calls for Timberlake to pay a fine of between $300 and $500. The exact amount of the fine will be determined by the judge.

The “Sexy Back” singer was arrested in Sag Harbor in June for refusing to take a breathalyzer test after ignoring a stop sign near the chic American Hotel.

Timberlake had claimed he was just drinking “a martini” with friends. However, police said he failed several sobriety tests and showed numerous signs of intoxication.

According to the police report, he allegedly showed signs of balance problems and an inability to follow instructions.

The former NSYNC star and his attorney Edward Burke Jr. have repeatedly denied that he was drunk at the time of his arrest.

The singer's BMW UT was captured by live cameras monitoring Main Street in the Hamptons town in the early hours of June 18.

Burke's office did not immediately respond to The Post's request for comment.

After his arrest, Judge Carl Irace revoked Timberlake's driver's license.

In New York State, refusing to submit to a breathalyzer or chemical test will result in a one-year suspension of your driver's license.

When Timberlake was arrested in June, authorities also found an expensive watch, a vape pen and over $300 in cash on him.

The incident ultimately sparked a flood of memes on social media because the police officer who stopped Timberlake allegedly did not recognize the pop star.
