Lynnwood High School student arrested after pulling out firearm during driving rage incident, police say

Lynnwood High School is under full lockdown while Snohomish County officials investigate.

BOTHELL, Washington – A 16-year-old student is in custody following an apparent road rage incident in which a firearm was brandished, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said.

In a social media post, the department said officers responded to a reported incident of road rage involving a firearm on North Road shortly before 7:30 a.m.

Officers were told that a young girl pulled out a gun while driving on North Road and then turned into Lynnwood High School, the news release said.

Parts of an assault rifle were found on the floor of the suspect's vehicle, the SCSO said. The girl was arrested and the vehicle and her backpack were seized as evidence, the SCSO said.

Lynnwood High School was placed on full lockdown while officials investigated. At 9:45 a.m., the lockdown was lifted and normal operations resumed at Lynnwood High.
