Ellis County officials investigating couple's death as murder-suicide, sheriff says

The deaths of an Ellis County couple whose bodies were found Wednesday morning by their teenage son are being investigated as a murder-suicide, Sheriff Brad Norman said in a news release.

According to the press release, officers responded to a 911 call at 9600 Baucum Road in Midlothian around 7:45 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman who reported that her grandson said his parents were dead.

Medical personnel pronounced the victims – who apparently died from gunshot wounds – dead at the scene, Norman said.

Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and are investigating a possible motive.
