Aubrey Plaza describes how she suffered a sudden stroke at the age of 20

Aubrey Plaza reflects on a horrific medical threat she experienced years ago.

The White Lotus The 40-year-old graduate recently recounted her sudden stroke, which she suffered at the age of 20 while staying with friends in New York City.

“It was wild,” said Aubrey Howard Stern during the September 11 episode of The Howard Stern Showper DelawareOnline. “The craziest thing about it – and kind of the coolest thing about it – it happened in the middle of a sentence. I was taking the train to Astoria to have lunch with my friends, and when I walked into their apartment – I hadn't even taken my jacket off – it just happened.”

The Parks & Recreation The graduate then described in detail how this “terrible” experience affected her ability to speak.

“I was paralyzed at the time, but only for a minute or so,” she continued. “I lost my motor skills for a very short time. The craziest thing was that I forgot how to speak.”

Over the years, Aubrey has reflected on the fear for her health and said her friends did not take her seriously when the first symptoms of the stroke appeared.
