38-year-old library security guard shot dead in Saginaw | Crime

According to police, a 38-year-old man was shot in a parking lot on Janes Avenue in Saginaw on Tuesday afternoon.



SAGINAW, Michigan (WJRT) – A Bridgeport Township man died and another man was arrested following a shooting outside the Hoyt Library in Saginaw Tuesday night.

Saginaw police said 38-year-old Henry Ford was working as a security guard at the library when he suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot along the 500 block of Janes Avenue around 5:40 p.m.

An ambulance took Ford to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators arrested a 37-year-old male suspect in connection with the murder. They were unable to identify the suspect on Wednesday morning because he did not appear in court to be arraigned on the open murder charge.

Police also did not provide any information about a possible motive for the shooting. However, they said Ford and the suspect knew each other and the crime was not random.
