Luke Combs makes fun of Post Malone's “bootleg” merchandise

Luke Combs just criticized Post Malone for wearing fake “Combs” items at one of his performances.

Of course, the country singer acted like he was upset when he shared a photo of Malone on his Instagram stories. In fact, it sounds like he was more excited that his colleague would be filling in for him at one of his own shows.

The T-shirt in question features a photo of Combs with what appears to be his signature. Above the photo is the name “Combs” and below it is the song title “Beer Never Broke My Heart.”

“The shirt is awesome,” Combs writes on social media (that's a good thing). “Even if it's a bootleg, haha.”

According to Urban Dictionary, “gas” means “good ass.”

Bootleg Luke Combs Merchandise: A History Lesson

In 2023, Combs' legal team sued one of his fans for selling pirated copies. Nicol Harness was hit with a $250,000 lawsuit for the Combs-themed drinking cups she designed. Harness says she made a total of $380.

According to News Channel 8 in Tampa, she was one of several defendants in a larger counterfeit goods lawsuit. A judge ruled that Harness must pay the “Ain't No Love in Oklahoma” singer $250,000.

When Combs learned of the lawsuit, he lobbied to have it dropped. He said he had hired a firm that prohibits large companies from misusing his name and likeness, but he found it appalling that someone like Harness had become a target.

“I'm so sorry to speak to her. Honestly, it makes me sick that something like this happens, especially around the holidays,” he shared on social media at the time. “I can't imagine being in her shoes.”

Country stars react to Post Malone's new country music

It's not enough to say that country stars are supporting Post Malone's new, genre-bending album. Everyone we asked for a reaction to the new music praised the pop crossover artist and then took the time to explain why.

This isn't polite admiration. Below are honest responses from eight stars who have worked with him or watched him broach the subject of a country album. They're young and old, progressive and traditional. Unless otherwise noted, all quotes are from Taste of Country interviews.
