Dave Bautista is finally getting calls about the lead role in his first romantic comedy

Dave Bautista says he is developing some ideas for romantic comedies after receiving calls asking him to pursue the genre.

Dave Bautista, whose latest action comedy The murderer's game hits theaters this Friday and is ready to make hearts beat faster by starring in a romantic comedy. In the past, Bautista wondered if he “too unattractive” to become a Lothario on screen, and asks Page Six in an interview in 2023, “Is there something about me that excludes me from these areas?” Oh, Dave! Don't listen to your emo teen life coach. He doesn't know what he's talking about! I know plenty of people who find your rugged good looks alluring, and then some.

Fast forward to the premiere of The murderer's gamewhere Bautista said The Hollywood Reporter that his Page Six Comments “sparked quite a conversation, but I got a lot of calls afterward.”

“I said that and immediately got calls,” Bautista continued. “We’re developing a few that are really funny.” Finally he said he was “It gets there like a real romantic comedy. Not like an action romantic comedy, but a real romantic comedy.”

Dave Bautista has been in the spotlight lately, with fans and viewers asking about his recent weight loss. Don't worry, he's fine – in fact, he's never been better. He gained a lot of weight for his role as Leonard in M. Night Shyamalan's Knock on the hut but didn't want to maintain the pounds he had gained. Instead, he started Jiu-Jitsu and through martial arts and hard work lost several pounds to reach a more manageable weight.

Here is the official synopsis for The murderer's game Courtesy of Lionsgate:

Director and stuntman JJ Perry (John Wick: Chapter 2, The fate of the angry, The Rundown) directs from a screenplay by Rand Ravich and James Coyne, based on the book by Jay R. Bonansinga.
