Jon Bon Jovi helps save a woman on a pedestrian bridge in Nashville

Legendary rock star Jon Bon Jovi was in the right place at the right time Tuesday night when he helped prevent a potential tragedy on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Nashville.

While on the bridge for a photo shoot, Bon Jovi noticed a woman on the outer edge of the bridge who looked like she was preparing to jump into the Cumberland River below. The incident was captured in its entirety on surveillance video posted to YouTube by the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Bon Jovi, known for his compassion, and his team spoke with the woman and successfully convinced her not to jump. Emergency responders, including the Nashville Fire Department and Metro Nashville Police Department, arrived shortly afterward.

Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake said, “We all have to do our part to protect each other.”

No further information has been released about the woman's condition or the circumstances leading to the incident. Authorities have not yet released any further details.
