Fresh air at home, new activity in the tropics

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – High pressure brings brisk northeast winds and dry skies to your First Alert Forecast to start the work week. Monday night should see cool temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees under starry skies. And on Tuesday, you can enjoy warm sun and brisk breezes with highs between 27 and 30 degrees.

The tropics will be active during this statistical peak week of the Atlantic hurricane season. In particular, a system called Francine in the Gulf of Mexico will help bring muggier breezes and rain showers to the Cape Fear region through the end of the week and into the weekend. Development of additional tropical storms remains possible east of the eastern Caribbean islands; no direct or indirect impacts to the Carolinas can be determined at this time.
