Teenager under investigation for father's death in Oklahoma arrested in Florida for allegedly killing his mother

A teenager under investigation for the 2023 shooting death of his father in Oklahoma has been arrested in Florida, police said.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said Collin Griffith was arrested after he called 911 on Sunday to report that his mother was bleeding from a knife wound to her neck.

Collin claimed his mother fell on the knife after an argument, but investigators said they did not believe that was the case.

In February 2023, Collin was investigated after his father was shot and killed in Lincoln County, Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation later dropped the charges because it could not rule out self-defense.

However, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said he does not believe Collin was a victim in any of those cases.

“When you look at that, you see a child, but when I look at him, I see a psychopath,” Judd said.

Judd said he now hopes the OSBI will reopen its investigation into Collins' father's death.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is currently asking Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody to charge Collin as an adult.
