Final breakdown of the Miami Dolphins Week 2 injury report

The Miami Dolphins left out two players for their Thursday night game against the Buffalo Bills and a new name appeared on their final injury report of the week.

The final injury report was again based on an estimate, as the Dolphins conducted a walk-through on Wednesday.

Running back De'Von Achane was not among the excluded players, but his participation was listed as questionable due to his ankle injury.

The two players who were absent were running back Raheem Mostert (chest) and wide receiver Malik Washington (quad). Washington, the sixth-round rookie out of Virginia, will miss his second straight game.

Standout special teams player and safety Elijah Campbell was listed on the injured report Wednesday with an Achilles tendon injury and was listed as questionable. A later entry indicates the injury happened in practice, and an Achilles tendon injury is always a concern, although the extent was not known Wednesday afternoon.

The Dolphins signed veteran Robbie Chosen from the practice squad to make up for Washington's absence in the opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, so a repeat would make sense. However, if they want to have five active wide receivers again, they could opt for 2022 fourth-round pick Erik Ezukanma instead.

With Mostert out, rookie fourth-round pick Jaylen Wright will almost certainly make his NFL debut after being inactive Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Depending on Achane's status, the Dolphins could also promote Deneric Prince from the practice squad.

Offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg was not cleared to play and will therefore be eligible to play against the Bills.

The Bills also conducted a walk-through on Wednesday, so their report on practice attendance was based on an estimate.

In any case, the Bills ruled out CB Taron Johnson (forearm) and DE Dawuane Smoot (toe) and listed DE Javon Solomon (oblique muscle) as questionable.

Quarterback Josh Allen (left) was one of four players on the injury list who did not receive a game status designation, indicating they are ready to play.
