Janitor of a high school in Phoenix allegedly had sex with a student

Phoenix police arrested a high school janitor on Thursday for allegedly having sex with a student, court records show.

Oscar Sandoval, 48, who worked at Thunderbird High School in the Glendale Union High School District, was accused of sexual conduct with a 16-year-old girl and other sexual acts.

The files show two cases in which Sandoval is said to have sexually touched the student, as well as one case of sexual intercourse.

According to court records, the crimes occurred sometime between August 7, 2023, and December 21, 2023, and took place on school grounds.

Sandoval worked for the Glendale Union High School District for eight years before being fired last week.

According to court documents, Sandoval was arrested by police at Thunderbird High School after exchanging messages with the student and allegedly admitting to having sex with her.

Sandoval was arrested and accused of sexual abuse of a minor.
