Manassas Police Investigate Reckless Use of Firearms After Theft


MANASSAS, Virginia – Police are searching for a man who fired a shot into the air early Wednesday morning in the Forest Park Mobile community after being confronted about a theft.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at approximately 3:33 a.m. on Sept. 11 in the 7800 block of Tayloe Drive. According to police, an unknown man stole sunglasses from an unlocked vehicle. When a witness confronted the suspect, he fled to a waiting gray sedan. Before leaving the area, the suspect fired a volley into the air. No injuries or property damage were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'8″ tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie with a white logo on the front and dark pants.

Police are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.

  • Three teenagers arrested in connection with robbery in Woodbridge

    WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police have arrested three 17-year-old male juveniles in connection with a robbery that occurred Aug. 27 near Matthews Drive and Burns Court in 22191 Woodbridge. The suspects, all of Woodbridge, were charged with robbery and are being held in the juvenile detention center, authorities said.

    The incident, reported on August 27 at 3:33 p.m., involved a 14-year-old male offender who was attacked by four people shortly after getting off a school bus. According to the investigation, the offenders approached the victim from behind, pushed him to the ground and took his shoes. They also attempted to steal his hoodie before the two separated. The victim suffered minor injuries.

    During the investigation, officers were able to identify three suspects who were involved in the robbery. The victim's stolen shoes were confiscated. Police are still investigating the involvement of a fourth person in the case.

    Court dates for the juveniles are still pending.

  • NYPD looking for two suspects in non-fatal shooting in Bronx

    BRONX, NY – The New York Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating two people wanted in connection with a non-fatal shooting in the Bronx early Tuesday morning.

    On September 10, 2024, around 1:00 a.m., a 41-year-old man was shot once in the back outside 245 East 207th Street, police said. The victim was taken by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is reportedly in stable condition.

    The two unidentified suspects fled the scene on foot heading east on 207th Street. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

    Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects to contact the NYPD.
