A man awaits sentencing after pleading guilty in connection with a fatal crash in Seabrook. The crash occurred in April 2022. Prosecutors said Edward Ward crashed into the back of a vehicle, killing 56-year-old John Deming of Plaistow. A man awaits sentencing after pleading guilty in connection with a fatal car crash in Seabrook.

The crash occurred in April 2022.

According to prosecutors, Edward Ward crashed into the rear of a vehicle, killing 56-year-old John Deming of Plaistow.

Ward was originally charged with involuntary manslaughter, but on Wednesday he agreed to plead guilty to the lesser offenses of assault with a vehicle and reckless handling of a deadly weapon.

Two family members of the victim, including his son, spoke out against the agreement.

“My mother has lost everything. I have lost both parents. My mother is collapsing. Everything is gone. My father was the breadwinner,” said the son.

The verdict is scheduled for October 30.
