Game outlook

Week 2 begins with an AFC East showdown as the 1-0 Bills travel to South Beach to face the 1-0 Dolphins in a game that could have postseason implications late in the year. Let's start with the home team here after they eked out a win over the Jags last week thanks to a last-second FG. The headline here, and really the key to the forecast, is the RBs' injury situation. As mentioned above, Raheem Mostert has already been ruled out with a chest injury, while DeVon Achane hasn't practiced on a short week due to an ankle injury. Achane's status will be crucial until the lock, as it will drastically impact the DFS viability of Jeff Wilson and/or Jaylen Wright, who was out healthy in Week 1. Perhaps more importantly, though, the RB injuries may even more Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle should see more volume, as Mike McDaniel has always been one of the NFL's best coaches when it comes to getting his best players under control. With Achane potentially limited and Mostert out, I'm happy to bet on Tyreek and Waddle as the clear centerpieces of the offense here, especially against a Bills defense without second-team All-Pro CB Taron Johnson. If Achane sits out, Waddle and Tyreek should each have a path to 8+ targets after Achane caught seven passes a week ago. In that Week 1 game, Miami dropped to 56% when the game was just a score away. Now that their best RBs are banged up and the spreads are tight, it's reasonable to assume that number goes up a bit in this matchup against a banged-up Bills defense.
