Samsung Galaxy A16 5G: Design leaks via new rendering

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is expected to be released in December, although Samsung has not confirmed any details yet. Thanks to a leaked render from Android Headlineswe can take a first look at the design.

The Galaxy A16 5G features a notched display with a vertically aligned triple camera setup on the back. The SIM slot is on the left side, while the right side houses the volume rocker and the power button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The design is reminiscent of the Galaxy A15 5G, with minimal changes in button placement or camera arrangement.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A16 5G is rumored to have a 5,000mAh battery. Geekbench listings suggest two possible chipsets for this model: MediaTek's Dimensity 6300 (SM-A166P) and Samsung's Exynos 1330 (SM-A166E). Both options support 5G, but it's unclear which variant Samsung will go with, as a 4G model is also expected.

The phone follows in the footsteps of the Galaxy A15, features similar design elements and is likely aimed at the budget-conscious consumer. Given the use of the Dimensity 6100+ chip in the Galaxy A15 5G, it wouldn't be surprising if Samsung sticks with MediaTek for this version. However, a 4G version could stir things up with different innards.

More details about the Galaxy A16 5G are expected to be announced as the launch approaches, so stay tuned for updates if you've been eyeing a budget 5G device.
