Fatal motorcycle crash on Memorial Dr. near Piney Point Rd.

The 22-year-old victim was traveling eastbound when he collided with a Subaru that was turning left onto South Piney Point Road, HPD and Memorial Villages police said.

HOUSTON – According to Houston police, a young female motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Memorial Drive on Wednesday evening.

It happened just before 9 p.m. near S. Piney Point Road.

Investigators said the driver of a Subaru traveling west on Memorial Road told them he saw the motorcycle in the eastbound lane but thought he had enough time to turn left onto Piney Point Road.

The motorcycle could not brake in time and crashed into the Subaru.

The 22-year-old woman on the motorcycle was taken by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital, but did not survive.

The accident is being investigated by HPD and Memorial Villages Police.

They said the driver of the Subaru remained at the scene of the accident.
