The footage begins with Hall declaring, “I am a killer,” as the elevator doors open to reveal the new, younger Dexter, now played by Patrick Gibson (Shadows and Bones) before quickly revealing to him all the people in his life who “made” him the prolific killer who became known as the “Bay Harbor Butcher.”

The teaser introduces his father Harry (Christian Slater, who takes on the role of James Remar), his younger sister Deb (originally portrayed by Jennifer Carpenter, now played by Molly Brown), his new bosses at the Miami Metro Police Department, CSI Chief Tanya Martin (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Captain Aaron Spencer (Patrick Dempsey), young Maria LaGuerta (originally played by Luna Lauren Velez, now played by Christina Milian), young Angel Batista (originally portrayed by David Zayas, now played by James Martinez) and young Vince Masuka (Alex Shimizu, who takes on the role of CS Lee).
