WVU issues warning after recent domestic violence incident and seeks suspect

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) – West Virginia University Police issued a campus alert Thursday following a domestic violence incident Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the University Place parking garage on University Avenue, officials said, but neither the suspect nor the victim are WVU students or employees.

Police are actively searching for Saquan Moore and have issued an arrest warrant for domestic violence.

A disturbance was reported in the parking garage, and although the suspect and victim left the area separately, witness interviews and surveillance footage led to the identification of Moore, police said.

Authorities said Moore was banned from entering the WVU campus with immediate effect.

Anyone with information about the incident or Moore's whereabouts is asked to call university police at 203-293-2677 or visit the department at 992 Elmer Prince Drive in Morgantown. Information can be shared anonymously, officials said.

“I want to publicly thank the individuals who immediately reported this incident,” said Chief Sherry St. Clair. “We tell the WVU community to say something if they see something, and this is a direct result of that.”
