SB Nation Big Ten Writers: Top 10 Rankings Week 2 2024

AP poll? Shmay pee poll! Coaches poll? We all know coaches don't have time to fill out a weekly poll, let alone watch enough games to make informed decisions! That's why the friendly neighborhood Big Ten writers from across the SB Nation universe have come together to create the only fair, accurate, and unbiased poll in all of college football.

Each week, a writer from the 16 websites that cover specific B1G schools (the more modest UCLA and USC do not have SBN websites) submits their picks, and O Basse of Michigan State's The Only Colors website compiles them into the official SBN Big Ten Writers Poll™️.

I will keep you updated on our selections here at Land-Grant Holy Land and let you know how I vote each week because we believe in truth, justice and transparency in journalism here in Buckeye Country.

There will also be a Player of the Week selected by the Big Ten writers. So, without further ado, here is SB Nation's Big Ten writers' poll after Week 2.

Player of the Week | Cade Klubnik, Clemson

Alex Hicks Jr./USA TODAY Sports via Imagn Images

After completing 18 of 29 passes for 142 yards and an interception against Georgia, Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnick defeated Appalachian State in a weak year and that was apparently reason enough for my colleagues to name him Player of the Week ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I mean, OK, yes, he had an impressive stat line, throwing for 378 yards and five touchdowns on 24-of-26 passing, but in my opinion, feasting against G5 teams does not a PotW arouse, especially when the numbers that come with it aren't mind-blowing.

Other vote recipients:

  • Canon Woodill | Kicker, Northern Illinois
  • Xavier Scott | DB, Illinois
  • Quarterback, Syracuse (my unironic selection)
