Cathel Westmoreland faces numerous drug charges

LAWRENCE CO., Alabama (WAFF) – A Lawrence County man is facing numerous charges after a large quantity of drugs was found during a search.

Officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office said the Lawrence County VICE/Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant on a residential property in the Five Points community on Wednesday.

During the search, one pound of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, Xanax, hydrocodone, oxycodone, drug paraphernalia (use/sale), drug manufacturing components and explosive components were found.

Cathel Monroe Westmoreland was arrested and charged with:

  • Trafficking in methamphetamines
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Certain people are prohibited
  • Possession of marijuana I
  • Manufacture of methamphetamine

Officials said additional charges may be filed at a later date.

Westmoreland is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on $37,000 bail.
