Cyclist fatally injured in accident with garbage truck in Henderson

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – UPDATE: According to Henderson police, one person was killed in an accident between a truck and a cyclist.

Henderson firefighters and police officers arrived at the scene of the accident on Warm Springs Road and Parkson Road shortly before 5 p.m.

According to police reports, a garbage truck collided with a cyclist. The 23-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital, where he died.

The garbage truck driver remained on site and cooperated with the police.

HPD does not currently believe speed or impairment played a role in this accident.

The Nevada State Police assisted in this investigation by inspecting the garbage truck.

According to HPD, this is the 15th fatal accident in 2024.
