Bills 34, Cardinals 28 | Final score, key stats + game highlights

2. Quick start

After Codrington gave the Bills great field position on the first drive of the game, Allen dropped the ball and the Cardinals brought the ball down, allowing K. Matt Prater to make a field goal.

Allen recovered the early fumble, took the Bills into the red zone on both of their possessions and scored both points.

On their first scoring drive, Cook got going early and got six carries, including a 15-yard run. Allen found TE Dawson Knox for 23 yards, his only completion of the drive. In the red zone, Allen ran for a rushing touchdown, but the run was called back due to a face mask penalty and the Bills settled for a field goal by K Tyler Bass.

After Arizona pulled away on the ensuing drive with just 2:44 left in the half, Allen led the offense in a two-minute drill. Despite several false start penalties, Allen found the end zone with a seven-yard rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Khalil Shakir bounced off a defender and caught a pass from Allen 19 yards out, and Coleman made his first career catch for 12 yards.

After the second half kickoff was just short of the landing zone and brought the ball to the 40-yard line, the offense immediately went back to work. Allen found his running backs this time and completed a 25-yard pass to Cook and Davis for another 14 yards. Allen finished the drive with a dart to Hollins, tying the game at 17-17.
