The series' official logline states that the show “explores the schemes, rivalries, visions and obsessions of those in power and their underlings as they fight for control of the most powerful industry the world has ever seen.”

Burns is the creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner of Thumblite. Pike will executive produce in addition to starring. In addition to Ellenberg and Galloway, Greg Jacobs is also an executive producer, and Media Res' Lindsey Springer is also an executive producer.

Pike currently stars in the Amazon high fantasy series The Wheel of Time. Her other recent credits include the films Saltburn, I Care A Lot, and the series State of the Union. She is known for her roles in films such as Gone Girl, A Private War, and Die Another Day.

She is represented by CAA in the US, United Agents in the UK, Magnolia Entertainment and Prosper PR.

Burns previously produced the 2006 Oscar-winning climate change documentary An Inconvenient Truth and served as executive producer on the 2017 follow-up An Inconvenient Truth. His other credits include several films dealing with major world issues, such as The Report, The Informant, Contagion, Side Effects and The Laundromat. Most recently, he created the climate change anthology series Extrapolations for Apple TV+, produced by Media Res.

He is represented by UTA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Galloway is a well-known entrepreneur, speaker, podcaster, and professor. He is highly sought after for his thoughts on the world of business, technology, and finance. He is currently a professor of marketing at NYU's Stern School of Business.

Media Res' current slate includes the popular Apple TV+ shows “The Morning Show” and “Pachinko,” and the company recently produced “Scenes from a Marriage” for HBO and “I'm a Virgo” for Amazon Prime Video.

Puck was the first to report that “Thumblite” would move to Netflix.
